Kappa Delta is an impressive nationwide organization that reaches far beyond the local chapter.
It is a national organization of more than 230,000 initiated members, 156 active collegiate chapters across the country and more than 500 chartered alumnae chapters nationwide. It is led by a National Council, over 100 national volunteers and a professional staff numbering over 40. It is a network of sisters and friends around the world.
We have chosen to become Kappa Deltas because we believe that, in some way, all of us can be better together than each of us can be alone. That is the strength of Kappa Delta nationally.
Located in the prestigious Southwind section of Memphis, Tenn., the sorority’s national headquarters is a beautiful 18,734-square-foot Georgian-style structure, adapted in a neo-Palladian manner. In addition to office and storage space, it features the sorority’s museum, a mail room, eight bedrooms with four shared baths for overnight meetings, and the National Council’s meeting room, lounge and kitchen.
Today, the national headquarters is operated by an executive director and a professional staff numbering 40-plus. This is the hub of the sorority. It’s where the entire membership records of the sorority, from day one, are kept on a sophisticated computer system. It’s where collegiate and alumnae chapters and individual members turn for answers to a myriad of questions. It’s where convention/meeting planning, accounting, fundraising, communications, programming and member services activities take place. It's where the sorority's historical records and memorabilia dating back to 1897 are housed.
Kappa Deltas are always welcome during regular office hours, and are encouraged to visit the building to meet the staff and become acquainted with the sorority’s heritage.
